Wisdom for Wednesdays – July 15, 2020

“Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove. O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark, that looks on tempests and is never shaken.”

William Shakespeare

Contrary to what our culture would have us believe, love is not a feeling. We can’t stop loving when our emotions beg us to do so. Love is bigger than that.

When we love, we make a decision to prefer someone else above ourselves. When we love, we take the hard road. When we love, we step out of the comfort zone. When we love, we do what is right, even when it’s hard. When we love, we continue to seek the best interest of others, even when we don’t feel affection towards them.

Who will you love today?
