Happy Monday, faithful readers! I wanted to stop in today with some recent snapshots of farm life. These photos aren’t very high-quality because they were taken on my phone… sadly, it’s just impractical to shove a dSLR in your back pocket to whip out at exciting and photogenic moments.

A lovely sunrise and a cool, gorgeous morning that made me glad to be alive.

Mist in the Minnesota bluffs… ❤ ❤ ❤

Pushing up feed! When the cows eat, they push the feed away from them, so we go through the barn several times a day with this feed plow and push the feed closer to the cows so they can keep munching.

Field work on a very sweaty day. Sweat is starting to feel like a second skin. 🙂

People, this intriguing piece of machinery is called a merger. It does just what the name implies: it merges one windrow of alfalfa with another. You drive along the windrows with it, and it picks one windrow up and throws it on top of another… if you’re careful. If you’re not careful, the windrow gets thrown over the other windrow. Whoops.

It was such a treat to see this lovely sunset while merging one evening.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into farm life. Have a lovely day!

Thanks for sharing these pictures! The sunrise picture is beautiful! (Seeing the sunrise is one of my favorite things on the farm…)

The first two pictures are my favorite! I agree, it’s VERY impractical to always have a good camera with you (sadly). 🙂
